Six 6th grade girls from Bowling Green, Kentucky had a dream: to send a camera into the stratosphere! With the help of a few adults, some funding, and their science skills, they built a weather balloon to carry high resolution cameras into the stratosphere to take HD pictures/video and make measurements about the speed of ascent/descent and the temperature at that altitude.
Check out this video and their website for more information. (Just a warning….if you’re sensitive to motion sickness, try not to watch it too closely.)
