Different types of cells

E. coli: most strains are harmless- some can be found in your gut! But there some deadly strains of this virus which can cause some serious food poisoning.

Halobacteria- These bacteria survive in extremely salty conditions where other organisms would just shrivel up and die!

These are plant cells viewed at 1000x. What structures can you identify?

These are red blood cells. Mammalian red blood cells do not have nuclei when they mature.

An isolate nerve cell- Nerve cells have long "appendages" called dendrites that stretch out from the cell body.

Stained cheek cells. Check out the nucleus!
