Musical Notes:

“The Roots Come Alive” is a live album released in 1999 from the Philadelphia hip-hop group, The Roots.  The Roots was formed by Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter and Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson in 1987.  The album title is a reference to Peter Frampton’s album, “Frampton Comes Alive.

Here’s one of my favorite tracks with Jill Scott:

Language of Flowers is an indie-pop band originally from Belfast in Northern Ireland.  The band’s sound is described as characteristic of the C86 movement- “jangly guitars” and a “bright pop sound.”
