Tomorrow, we’re off for week one of Farm School. 6th and 7th graders will be doing a science curriculum, while the 8th graders do the Russ/Arlene curriculum.
Here’s the storyline for the 6th and 7th graders:
A new planet has been discovered! A group of scientists and adventurers have been summoned to examine the viability of establishing a settlement on this planet. You have been chosen for this expedition.
Expedition teams will be traveling to different areas on the planet known as Farm School. The origin of the name of the planet is unknown. Each expedition team will make scientific observations in their designated habitat. Due to a lack of funds for this experimental venture, each team will only have four days at their habitat. You will need to use the skills and strengths of each team member to complete this mission. At the end of the four days, you will have a limited amount of time to present your habitat to a group of diplomats from your home planet. Your job is to educate these diplomats about the habitat. Once the diplomats have heard from all the expedition teams, a town meeting will be held to decide if this planet will be viable for human settlement.
