Galileo on the Moon

Well, Galileo didn’t really travel to the moon.  But the moon is a great place to test out Galileo’s Law of Falling Bodies.  Remember that he said that all objects, regardless of mass, will fall at the same rate, without air resistance.  Let’s see what it looks like to drop a hammer and a feather in place with no air…the moon!

This video was taken on the last Apollo 15 mission in 1971.  The astronaut featured is Commander Dave Scott.
